ABOUT US
The Rice Robotics Club (RRC) is focused on providing members the resources to explore their interests in engineering and design. Our goal is to encourage students to collaborate on projects to develop their skills in engineering for industry development and research. Our club focuses on nurturing the development of engineering based skills including expertise in engineering design, manufacturing, computation, and electronics. We also encourage members to establish leadership skills by developing solutions to real-world problems as a team and leading innovative projects.
RRC utilizes the facilities found at Rice University to guarantee members with an environment containing all of the necessary resources to pursue their interests. The Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen, where RRC is based, is equipped with a variety of heavy machinery and 3D printers allowing members to prototype and manufacture any and all of their designs. For those inexperienced with the machinery, RRC is staffed with knowledgeable members ready to teach and assist newcomers in operating the equipment. Our club also encourages members to learn 3D modeling and offers seminars in Computer Aided Design (CAD) for both SOLIDWORKS and Fusion 360.
