The Drone Team is an interdisciplinary team focused on developing multiple unmanned aerial vehicles to interact with each other. Our end objective is to be able to have a group of drones be capable of navigating an area while working together to identify a target using vision processing. We work on the design and testing of the drone frames themselves as well as working to automate flight using python and Ardupilot.
Currently students are learning how to utilize Python to interact using MavLink and connection to ground control stations. While others are experimenting with concept frame designs to carry ample camera and on-board processing equipment.
We will eventually work with fluid simulation, structural analysis, simulation, and automation.
